Rev. Dr. Debyii Sababu-Thomas
Dr. DeByii L. Sababu Thomas is a dynamic professor, educator, consultant, and motivational speaker who is known not only for her powerful speaking, but also for her educational, inspirational and interactive presentations and training that focus on communication and leadership, as it occurs within intercultural, interpersonal, organizational, health and religious contexts.
With a Ph.D. degree in organizational and leadership communications from Howard University, Dr. Thomas is blessed to share her gifts and talents as a professor and director of the Undergraduate Studies Program in the Department of Communication and Culture of Howard’s School of Communications. She has been recognized as one of the “Most Outstanding Teachers” at Howard University over 12 times. Moreover, she was listed in the 2004 and 2005 editions of Who’s Who among American Teachers. As the former coach for the nationally known Howard University Mock Trial Debate Team, she inspired and motivated her students to win two national championships and was twice awarded the “Coach of the Year Award” by the American Mock Trial Association.
She has also lectured at numerous academic institutions throughout the nation. Included among these academic institutions are Bennett, Spelman and Morehouse colleges, and universities such as Alaska, Cornell, Penn State, Massachusetts, Jackson State, James Madison, Central Florida, Delaware, Richmond, Syracuse, Maryland and Howard. Dr. Thomas has been called to speak and have received awards at numerous conferences and programs for each of the “Divine Nine” Pan-Hellenic organizations.
Last but certainly not least, Dr. Thomas is an ordained minister in the AME Church. She is founder of God’s Winning Women Worldwide Ministries, Inc. in Prince Georges County, MD and serves as an Associate Minister with her husband the Rev. Dr. Michael O. Thomas, the Senior Pastor at Hemingway Temple AME Church in Baltimore, MD.
