What are expectations for AASLE Virtual Indaba? First, what is an Indaba?
An Indaba is a very important meeting or gathering. The time is now!!! We have an opportunity to engage the world and change the world.
We expect everyone to have their camera’s on to create the same community that is a part of the culture at the in-person AASLE. Feel free to blur your backgrounds.
Engage with delegates, advisors, and sponsors before and after the Indaba. Engage in the chat and network with your peers from around the world!!!
Do I have to be African American to attend AASLE?
The AASLE is open to all students who desire to enhance their leadership skills; however, the focus is on the cultural history and leadership of African Americans.
Can I pay with institutional check?
Yes, submit your request for an invoice to info@belgllc.com. Please include number of registrants and registration type (undergraduate student, graduate student, or professional staff member). Indicate the person in which invoice should be addressed.
The schedule lists Group Meeting time, what is that?
During the AASLE, students will be placed into groups. Each group will be responsible for giving a presentation during the third day (Saturday) of the Experience. The group meeting time has been allotted for preparation. More information will be provided during AASLE..
What should I bring to AASLE?
In addition to business professional attire for 3 days, casual attire, personal items and an open mind, please bring a laptop (if you own one), notebook, writing instruments and a flash drive.
What is the attire for the AASLE?
One of the goals of AASLE is to prepare our participants to be leaders, internationally and domestically. Dressing the part plays a very significant role in how one is perceived. For that reason, the attire for the AASLE is business professional during all planned conference events including the Banquet.

What is a Hospitality Suite?
The Hospitality Suite is a room reserved for professional faculty/administrators & graduate students. It is a place to network, enjoy some snacks, and listen to music.
Will there be any social activities during AASLE? If so, what is the attire?
Of course, “work hard, play hard,” is what we believe. There will be social activities planned including a party on the last night of AASLE. The attire for these events is tasteful casual.
When does AASLE officially end?
AASLE officially concludes on Sunday after the Closing Reflections, Evaluations and Leadership Charge. It should conclude no later than 11am.
AASLE Virtual Global Indaba will end at 5:00pm EST.
